The scholarship program is open to graduating high school seniors who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, and a commitment to making a difference in their communities.
Applicants must reside in one of the eligible counties in Southeast Alabama
Write a personal essay reflecting on:
“What is the most significant challenge facing your generation, and what solutions would you propose to address it?”
Write a personal essay reflecting on a challenge you’ve overcome or an experience that shaped your aspirations. Be honest, creative, and let your personality shine.
At Southern Bone & Joint Specialists Foundation, we believe in giving back to the Wiregrass region by fostering opportunities for education and community development.
Through philanthropy and programs like our scholarship initiative, we aim to nurture talent, support local families, and make a lasting impact.
All applicants must meet all of the guidelines and requirements to be considered for the scholarship.
Students must reside in the following counties in Alabama: Barbour, Coffee, Covington, Crenshaw, Dale, Geneva, Henry, Houston, or Pike.
Student plans to enter college the fall semester following high school graduation with a declared major in a healthcare-related field.
All applicants must be a high school senior in the Alabama counties mentioned above and must have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
SBJS employees and families are not eligible. This includes siblings, children, stepchildren, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Applications for scholarships are now open for 2025
Scholarship awards can range from $1000 to $2500 depending on funds raised at each year’s annual event(s). This year’s scholarships will be presented at our annual banquet at Highland Oaks Golf Course Clubhouse in Dothan on Wednesday, May 15, 2025.
